Closing Your Door

When it comes to maintaining the integrity of your Palladio door, one simple action can make all the difference: closing it properly. It’s easy to overlook, but how you close your door can significantly impact its longevity and functionality. One crucial step is to pull the handle up—commonly known as throwing the handle—when you shut a composite door. This ensures that all locks are fully engaged, providing a secure seal that prevents potential warping or bowing damage.

Failing to close your door correctly can leave it precariously resting on just a latch, which only secures the middle portion of the door. This oversight leaves both the top and bottom vulnerable to environmental factors like heat, leaking, which can cause them to warp or swell over time. By making it a habit to throw the handle each time you close your Palladio door, you’re not just protecting against immediate issues but also saving yourself from costly repairs in the future.

This simple preventative measure is more than just routine maintenance; it’s an investment in preserving your home’s entryway. So next time you step outside or come back home, take that extra second to ensure everything is locked into place—you’ll thank yourself later for this small yet significant act of diligence.
